Abstract

Chapter 10 summarizes the results and concludes that prismatic blade production and adoption at San Lorenzo, even with local production at the Malpica workshop, reflects independent organization and development. Chapters 5 and 6 address the production, distribution, and consumption of obsidian at San Lorenzo, with a focus on the Malpica blade workshop. Even then, Malpica blade production did not account for all blades consumed at the site, indicating that several procurement networks of obsidian blades and of raw obsidian for flakes were in operation simultaneously.
