As Teorias da Argumentação na Língua e dos Blocos Semânticos: uma análise de gêneros textuais.

This paper is aimed at analysing two different text genres according to the Theory of Argumentation within Language, particularly the Theory of Semantic Blocks. The theoretical framework was drawn mostly on studies by Ducrot (1987, 1988, 2005), Carel (2002), Carel & Ducrot (2005) and Kleiman (2005). Based on theoretical premises by such authors, we started from the hypothesis that studying and working with texts from different genres may help teachers in mother tongue classrooms to increase the knowledge on text writing and comprehension. Two texts are analysed in this paper, one belonging to the genre magazine cover and the other to the genre news, and the analysis points to the argumentative possibilities enunciations project within a text and the relations that are established among them, according to the argumentative chaining proposed by the enunciative instructions, showing that meanings are constructed within the text, rather than in their relations with the outside world.
