Abstract

Since the Yagi-Uda antenna was created and published in the twenties, it has been a pillar of wireless communications and also one of the most popular antennas utilized due to its directivity and easy construction; although still commonly used today, one of the disadvantages is its laborious design process, especially when you have many directors. In recent decades, software has been developed to facilitate its design and simulation, both commercial and free to use software. This work describes the design of a Yagi-Uda antenna at 550 MHz using free MMana-Gal software. The results demonstrate that in instances where there is extreme precision or variability of materials is not required, free software can be an excellent option for design and simulation.
