Abstract

The infections caused by viruses are increasingly taking leadership in the worldwide, causing millions of cases and thousands of deaths, leukocyte disturbances occur in many cases. The present work aims to; Identify leukocyte alterations in viral infections: semiological and prognostic value. It was carried out by a documentary research based on a systematic review, the databases used were PubMed, SciELO, Elsevier, Embase, Dialnet and Lilacs. Scientific bibliography of the last 10 years was included, English and Spanish languages are included in the bibliographies analyzed, bibliography older than 10 years old was excluded, in addition to excluding clinical studies in animals. Results were evidenced in patients with Covid-19 who did not survive presented a TCD8 cell count of 98.89 compared to 203.98 of patients who survived, there were elevated levels of IL-6 10 times higher than those who survived. It was concluded that in patients with Covid-19, IL-6 levels (> 20 pg / mL), the TCD8 count (<165 cells / L) are a predictor of severity and mortality. In patients with Dengue, it was possible to identify that IL-10 levels (> 63 pg / dL) can be used as a predictor of the severity of dengue. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
