This article analyzes Mediation from the perspective of implementing the principle of human dignity. It aims to present what Conflict Mediation is, and how it is provided for the Brazilian legal system; then, it develops one of the presuppositions for the realization of the Mediation Session: the autonomy of the will, in its multiform definition. Finally, it deals with human dignity as an expression of individual freedom and people's capacity for self-management. It concludes by saying that conflict mediation materializes human dignity by enabling those involved in the conflict to decide the best solution, in a dialogic and citizen construction.
