Abstract

The spiral is a structure that often appears in nature. The spiral structure has attracted the attention of researchers in the field of intelligent optimization algorithms due to its special trajectory and natural convergence. Based on the spiral dynamic optimization algorithm(SDA),this paper proposed an improved spiral algorithm(MSPO) based on combined spiral and FDB selection strategy. It overcame the shortcomings of the SDA, greatly reduced the time complexity, simplified the calculation process, and improved the universality and convergence accuracy. Finally, it carried out experiments on 8 representative benchmark functions. Compared with the experimental results in references, MSPO shows better performance in convergence accuracy, speed and robustness. At the same time, it was applied to the optimization of the size of 10-bar and 25-bar continuous truss structures. Simulation experiments show that MSPO can well solve this type of structural optimization problem, compared with other commonly used algorithms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
