Abstract

Reaction between 2-(3,5-dimethylpyrazole-1-carbonyl)-3-arylacrylonitrile and dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate in the presence of potassium selenocyanate at room temperature provided a simple and efficient one-pot route for the synthesis of six highly functionalized selenophenes.
