Abstract
- The article informs that low-fat, unprocessed diets with no animal foods have been found to be acceptable to Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) patients. Two recent randomized controlled trials studied the effect of plant-based dietary intervention on insulin sensitivity and beta-cell function. Overweight and obesity continue to be strong risk factors for developing T2D.
