Abstract

The article discusses a study of the presentation of type 2 diabetes (T2D) in youth in the U.S. during the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of persons diagnosed with T2D increased to 34 in 2020 from 28 in 2019. It mentions the higher mean serum glucose in the 2020 cohort compared with the 2016 to 2019 cohort. It emphasizes the necessity for multisite collaborations to research impediments to optimal treatment of youth with T2D.
