Abstract
- As well as winds that reached gale-force at times (with storm force mean speeds of 48kn or more, in the case of I Ciara i , in the middle of the English Channel), there was copious rainfall over long periods that brought floods that were widespread across England. In February 2020, a series of three storms affected the coasts of the English Channel over a period of just 8 days. The heaviest of the rainfall was associated with the marked cold front of Storm I Dennis i as it crossed the Channel Islands. Storm I Inès i was a smaller and less intense system, rather different from storms I Ciara i and I Dennis i . [Extracted from the article]
