Pneumatic fractionation of enriched quartz sand for dry building mixtures.

Abstract

Laboratory studies have been carried out on the possibility of high-performance separation of particles of enriched quartz sand on the poly-cascade air classifier. Experimental efficiency dependences and boundaries of separation of narrow fractions of the loose product from the velocity of air flow have been obtained. The developed mathematical model of dry quartz separation showed the possibility of using cascading air classifiers to produce narrow fractions of quartz sands used as components of dry building mixtures. As a result of the simulation computer experiment, it was possible to produce narrow fractions along the boundaries of division 0.16; 0,315; 0,63; 1.25 mm. A technological scheme is proposed to obtain all the necessary fractions of quartz sand. Total losses in dust tails do not exceed 7%. The calculation of the technological parameters and dimensions of the industrial plant with a capacity of 5 t/h, which showed the amount of energy costs no more than 1.5 kWh/t.
