Abstract

Th e global COVID-19 pandemic has signifi cantly aff ected, and continues to aff ect, many areas of our lives, including mental well-being and socio-emotional needs. Th e current uncertain times and the associated psychological burden also have a negative eff ect on the behaviour of both adults and pupils. In the school context, it is necessary to respect the increased psychological burden of students and to address inappropriate behaviour on the part of students in a sensitive and eff ective way, as well as to prevent further confl icts. Th e article aims to discuss the possibilities of using the concept of Positive Behaviour Interventions and Supports (PBIS) as a set of methods designed to support appropriate behaviour of students during distance learning in the implementation of educational activities using online platforms. Th e emphasis in the text is mainly placed on the possibilities for the prevention of inappropriate behaviour and the principles of preventive support for behaviour within the entire classroom and school. Th e preventive support corresponds with the fi rst tíer of the PBIS system, which is presented. Because of the comprehensiveness of the whole system, the second and third tiers are only briefl y introduced in the text. Content analysis of the literature and foreign methodological materials developed for the PBIS system was chosen as the method for the work. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
