Abstract
- The present research aims at carrying out a comprehensive approach on the design, authorship, gestation, enhancement, iconography and symbolism of the arch raised in Alcalá Street after the Third Carlist War, for the entry of Alfonso XII in Madrid in 1876, and use it as a case study of a cultural tourist attraction. Using detailed information from contemporary newspapers. The analysis aims to promote and provide detailed information to increase tourism demand based on culture-based education and support for resources that attract and retain visitors.
