Abstract

The experiment was to investigate the effect of dietary supplementation of functional fiber and precision feeding on reproductive performance of sows during pregnancy. A total of 300 parturients sows were randomly divided into three groups with 100 replicates in each group and one pig in each replicate: control group, experiment group Ⅰ and experiment group Ⅱ. During pregnancy, sows in control group were fed with basal diet in the 'high-low-high' mode. Sows in experimental group Ⅰ were fed with modified formula diet + 1% functional fiber in 'high-low-high' mode. Sows in experimental group Ⅱ were fed with modified diet + 1% functional fiber, and the feeding amount was dynamically adjusted according to the body condition of sows. The experiment lasted for 157 d. The results showed that the constipation rate of each experiment group was significantly lower than that of control group (P<0.01). The backfat thickness of sows in experimental group was significantly lower than that of control group at 90 d of gestation and before delivery (P<0.01), and the backfat loss of sows in experimental group was significantly lower than that of control group at weaning (P<0.01). The number of live piglets, the number of healthy piglets, the birth weight of the piglets, the average number of weaned heads in each litter, the weight of the weaning litter and the seven-day weaning rate of each experimental group were significantly higher than those of control group (P<0.01). The days from weaning to mating in experimental group were significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.01). Compared with the control group, the feed input cost of sows in experimental group Ⅱ was the lowest, and the feed cost of the sows in experimental group Ⅱ was reduced by 1.24 yuan, and the benefit per litter was increased by 1 966.24 yuan. The studies indicates that the addition of functional fiber and precise feeding in gestational diets of sows can alleviate constipation, adjust the pregnancy, improve reproductive performance, reduce production costs, and increase economic benefits.
