Abstract

• Handheld mobile app based Electrochemical sensor. • Rapid and quantitative detection of OP pesticides. • Operating over sweeping potential for on-field monitoring. • Validated with spiked vegetable extract, standard potentiostat. • Low detection limit (9.8 ng L−1), Excellent stability (85 days). A hand-held Electrochemical sensor interfaced with a smartphone has been fabricated for rapid and on-site monitoring of organophosphate (OP) in vegetable extract. The simple inexpensive architecture of Universal wireless chemical detector (UWED) tethered with a miniaturized potentiostat powered through rechargeable battery has inspired to construct sensor which, is adaptable to different types of analysis via modulation of the software. Hence, it offers new avenues for fabrication of affordable sensors and wearable devices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
