Abstract

For years, one of the significant concerns of industrialized governments is the evaluation of public policies. The vast difference between the evaluation versus other management improvement techniques, focused on economic control and regulatory compliance, is that this, at present, appears completely linked to social aspects of democratic transparency and has a close relationship with the publicity of its reports and the participation of all the actors that come into play. This article will analyze legally the stage of evaluation and monitoring of environmental policies around their strengths and deficiencies, taking into account the importance of this stage within the cycle of public policies and the consequences or inconveniences that may arise when this it is not carried out effectively and is not complied with in order to monitor the environmental policies adopted.
