The end of bipartisanship and return of pluripartisanship in Paraná (1979-1982).

This article aims to analyze the epilogue of ARENA and MDB in Paraná and the return of pluripartisanship, with the organizations of the new political parties in the state. Thus, at first, we intend to analyze the partisan political reform of 1979 and the end of bipartisanship. We will then discuss the processes of organization of the ARENA substitute Social Democratic Party (PDS) and the MDB heir of the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party (PMDB) in the state. In a third moment, the genesis and brief trajectory of the Popular Party (PP) in Paraná will be analyzed. Subsequently, the processes of reorganization of the Brazilian Labor Party (PTB) and organization of the Democratic Labor Party (PDT) and the Workers Party (PT) in the state will be studied. Finally, we will analyze the 1982 elections, the first election that took place after the end of bipartisanship, in Paraná. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
