Abstract: The article discusses the efforts of boxer Charles Conwell to recover from the trauma of seriously injuring his opponent Patrick Day in a match which led to his death in October 2019. Conwell wrote a letter to Day two days after the fight expressing his sorrow about the injuries he sustained. An overview of the boxing careers of Day and Conwell is offered. The significance of Conwell's conversation with a pastor about mercy and redemptive love is mentioned.
