Abstract

In the reported case, the low sFlt-1/PlGF ratio was essential to exclude pre-eclampsia and avoid iatrogenic preterm delivery, leading to the diagnosis of new-onset OC mimicking severe pre-eclampsia. However, maternal serum sFlt-1/PlGF ratio was 12 (sFlt-1, 1284 pg/mL; PlGF, 107 pg/mL), guiding the medical team to exclude the diagnosis of pre-eclampsia. Pre-eclampsia is a common disorder that constitutes one of the leading causes of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. [Extracted from the article]
