Abstract

• 5 axillary nodal groups drain the breast, upper extremity and upper torso – anterior, posterior, lateral, central, and apical. • The lateral group drains the upper arm while the anterior group drains the breast. • COVID-19 vaccine is typically administered in the upper arm. • Axillary adenopathy involving the lateral, central, and/or apical groups with sparing of the anterior group is usual post vaccination. • This pattern of COVID-19 vaccine related unilateral axillary lymphadenopathy is identifiable on breast MRI and warrants a benign assessment.
