Abstract
- An interview with Kurdish artist Hiwa K is presented. He explains his use of anecdote as artistic strategy and his paintings based on the definition of western art history. He discusses his 2017 painting "Pinned Down" featuring Iraqi-Kurdish philosopher Bakir Ali. He talks about his debates with Ali on topics like Kurdish identity, language, music and history.
