Abstract
- In the article, the author discusses why inscriptions are special types of monument and how the act of writing graffiti can be a sign of rebellion against impersonal design. Also cited are how writing graffiti showed that someone's presence made a difference in a place, and how the relics of the body and habitual possessions of holy persons like saints served as signs that they lived as humans.
