Abstract

The article discusses the nature of ocular trauma, possible psychological consequences, and managing such effects. Among the symptoms of ocular trauma according to the College of Optometrists are pain, visual loss and photophobia. It mentions the symptoms of agitation, fear and mood change that may result from damage to the eye. Also presented is the case of a 42-year-old truck driver with symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after being involved in an accident.
