Four of the patients with CMV colitis in the setting of UC also had superimposed I Clostridium difficile i colitis. The majority ( I n i = 17; 77%) of the patients had CMV colitis in the setting of known inflammatory bowel disease ( I n i = 16 ulcerative colitis, I n i = 1 Crohn's disease).
