Abstract
- This paper questions how virtual reality tools can contribute to the construction of tools and methods for the ergonomist, particularly situational interviews. These virtual environments offer, under certain conditions, an immersion and a feeling of presence, which opens up possibilities concerning the construction of data on activity in unobservable situations. These possibilities are related to the affordances of these tools and through this study we examine in particular that of spherical photos (360°). This contribution reports on a method that was tested when a training facility was set up to encourage newly qualified young field operators to take a reflexive look at their professional practices. The results of the comprehensive analysis of their activity highlighted elements on the power of this situation to be put back into a dynamic situation. This method of re-situating from artificial traces, consists in proposing to the actor to tell a significant, meaningful episode that he has experienced, by navigating in a virtual environment representing the authentic environment in which he lived this episode. In conclusion, we discuss the contributions and limitations of this method as well as the possibilities for its implementation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
