Abstract

In this report of otologic characteristics of XLH patients, we found that one in every four patients with XLH presented with hearing loss. Hearing loss and associated variables Patients with hearing loss had a higher prevalence of tinnitus (5 of 6 patients (83%) vs. 5 of 20 patients (25%), I P i = .018) and a phosphate Z-score significantly lower than patients without hearing loss (-4.59 (SD 1.27) vs. -3.55 (SD 0.83), I P i = .025). Patients with hearing loss had higher prevalence of tinnitus and lower serum phosphate compared to patients without hearing loss.
