Abstract

[ Objective ] The study aimed to research on the effect of β-cyclodextrin on aroma retention of paper-making reconstituted tobacco, this experiment was carried out. [ Methods ] The reconstituted tobacco was prepared according to the conventional paper-making process, and β-cyclodextrin was added into the tobacco raw material during the extraction process. The aroma components of the extraction concentrate were extracted by two-step simultaneous distillation extraction, and the free and combined aroma components were quantitatively detected by GC-MS internal standard. The difference of free and combined aroma before and after adding β-cyclodextrin was compared and analyzed. [ Results ] After adding β-cyclodextrin, the total amount of free aroma components decreased, while the combined aroma components in creased. After 8 hours of extraction, the total amount of aroma components extracted from the concentrate decreased by 12. 75% . It should be that after 8 hours of simultaneous distillation and extraction, some of the volatile aroma components were in the complex state with β-cyclodextrin, but not released by extraction. [ Conclusion ] β-cyclodextrin can slow release and keep the aroma of the extract and concentrate of paper-making reconstituted tobacco. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
