Transhistoricizing Claude McKay's Romance in Marseille: Introduction to the Special Issue.

An introduction is presented in which the authors discuss articles in the issue on topics including an inquiry on the work of author Claude McKay based on the matrix of postcolonial and Black cultural theory, engagement of McKay with the always racialized and sexualized discourse of primitivism, and ocean voyages and symbols in the book "Romance in Marseille."
