This article is part of the master's research on the history of Empresa Brasil de Comunicação, focusing on social participation provided by two mechanisms: the Board of Trustees, which deliberated on the editorial line and public principles, and the Ombudsman, responsible for receiving statements from the audience and analyzing the contents. Created in 2007 to implement the constitutional pillar of public communication in Brazil, the EBC suffered changes since 2016 that disfigured the public principles of the company. Through a bibliographic, documentary and legislative survey, we found that, without these mechanisms of social control, the EBC becomes increasingly governmental. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
