Abstract

Chapter 10 ties many elements of the previous chapters together by way of considering how multiple and disparate features defining current and future work trends might be regulated within workplaces. The Realities and Futures of Work by Peetz, David Acton: Australian National University Press, 2019 Investigations and imaginings of the future of work encompass multiple contemporary perspectives related to current trends, and future projections, of where the world is heading in relation to technological, cultural, economic, mobility and other macro-trends. In chapters 1 and 2 Peetz provides a detailed account of the historical macro-trends that have influenced work as we know it today, delineating concepts of globalisation, financialisation and neoliberalism to explain the bigger picture.
