Abstract
- Negative behaviors often are directed toward nursing staff in verbal or physical assaults. Nursing staff on non-psychiatric units may not be prepared to manage such situations and need additional support. Behavioral Emergency Response Teams (BERTs) have been effective in supporting nursing staff faced with patients exhibiting these behaviors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
