Discusses the influence of glacial conditions on sedimentation in the Smalfjord Formation of northern Norway. Failure of direct sedimentological observations and comparisons to deliver unequivocal conclusions when deteremining whether diamictites are glacial or non-glacial; Suggestion that localized facies analysis must be harnessed together with other geological data on all scales.
