El término yihad en el pensamiento islámico y su problemática definición en el Diccionario de la Real Academia Española.

Jihad is a term that stirs up considerable controversy in the Islamic Thought. This word has appeared in an extraordinary way due to many stimulations, represented during the last decades. The concept of Jihad, the idea of its pacifism or bellicosity and its problematic definition in the Spanish dictionary represent certain types of complexity. The problematic point is the erroneous definition registered of the term Jihad in the DRAE, as a 'holy war'. We try to follow the conflicting interpretations on this term; that has created misconceptions and need clarification now more than before. In fact, the problem lies in the definition and its negative connotations that are completely different from its original meaning. Therefore, our approach in this article is mainly lexicographical. Moreover, it represents an opportunity to get closer to the true meaning of the term Jihad both in its sensu lato and in its sensu stricto. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
