Abstract

The article explores the history of the Picts in Scotland based on the Northern Picts Project headed by University of Aberdeen archaeologist Gordon Noble. Topics discussed include the belief that the Picts were the descendants of Iron Age Celtic tribes, discovery of the remnants of more than 800 house platforms at Tap o' Noth based on a lidar survey, and possibility that the Picts interacted with the Romans due to the sherds of Roman pottery dating to the third century at the site.
