Abstract

The article explores how Isaac Stern, an American Violinist failed in making his career in classical music with information on his life and work. Topics include rarefied art of classical violin, in the process making himself the best-known American classical instrumentalist; and played with Chinese musicians with their Western counterparts in the Cultural Revolution with Fritz Kreisler or Bruno Walter, who converted to Catholicism.
