Abstract

In the article, the authors discuss the strategies in managing patients with severe and enduring anorexia nervosa (SEAN) that do not require complete clinical recovery. They explain why the harm reduction approach alone is not sufficient to reduce the suffering of SEAN patients. Also cited are the reasons why the aim to just improve the quality of life (QOL) of patients is an outdated characterization of palliative care as end-of-life (EOL) care.
