The article focuses on decision of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court in the case Goodridge v. Department of Public Health on social movement theory in the field of communication. It mentions rhetoric of social change and also offer some refinement of social movement theory and advisory opinion on providing civil unions but not marriage to sexual minorities. It also mentions heterosexual-only federal definition of marriage in the Defense of Marriage Act of 1996 (DOMA).
