Abstract
- Synergistic antibacterial effect of green synthesized silver nanoparticles combined with antibiotic on Escherichia coli (Gram-negative) and Staphylococcus aureus (Gram-positive) was conducted, respectively. Well diffusion, growth curve, anti-biofilm, and colony formation were applied to evaluate its antimicrobial activity. Significant synergistic effect was found when silver nanoparticles were combined with streptomycin sulfate at ratios of 8:2 and 9:1 for E. coli, while 5:5 and 8:2 for S. aureus. It suggested that silver nanoparticles were proved to be an efficient antibacterial agent, and the challenge like drug resistance would also be able to resolve under the condition of silver nanoparticles combined with antibiotics.
