A New Triterpene, Chemical Composition, Antioxidant and In Vitro Cytotoxic Activities of Hedyotis uncinella.

A new triterpene, 3-formyl-oleanolic acid (1), with ten known compounds (2–11) were isolated from the whole dried plant of Hedyotis uncinella Hook. et Arn. The structures of all compounds were determined by various spectroscopic methods. The antioxidant activities and the antiproliferative activities were evaluated. The results provided insight into the antioxidant and anticancer components of Hedyotis uncinella in further development and research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
