Abstract
- In the article, the authors present a study on the relationship of deaths of despair (DOD) and the levels and trends in age-standardized mortality rates of drug-related deaths, alcohol-related deaths and suicides among White men and women in the U.S. It discusses how death rates from alcohol and drug use and suicide move together across time and place.
