Abstract
- The author deals with the theme of the beauty of Christ in the work of Rupert of Deutz, who takes on the exegetical component as a frontal moment of theological reflexion, as Scripture itself becomes an integral part of manifestation of the beauty of the Lord. The Word, which is from eternity substantia pulchritudinis, as embodied is also decus humani generis, the epiphany of pulchritudo, which shines both on the disfigured face of the Passion and on the glorious face of the most beautiful of the children of Man. The incarnate Word manifests his beauty as a revelation of the intimate meaning of Scripture to those who welcome it whith a humble and chast heart, also producing a dignification of the arts of the Trivium as a master of expressive decus. The men of God are “decorated” by the unveiling of the intimate sense of Scripture and complete in their flesh what is missing from the beauty of the body of Christ. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
