Abstract

Universities, like any type of complex entity, face great organizational challenges every day. The role that governments play in solving each challenge is fundamental, and therefore, it is also important to inquire about the alternatives of University Governance contemplated in the Higher Education Law 24,521 (SLE). The SLE defines and regulates the Argentine universities and was sanctioned in the 90s, in an international context in which neoliberal ideas prevailed. From its beginnings it had strong questions, fundamentally for contradicting the principle of university autonomy guaranteed in the National Constitution. The main purpose of this work is to analyze the situation of higher education in Argentina, based on the sanction of the SLE. It is expected that the analysis carried out, of a documentary nature, will contribute to the understanding of the positioning of the SLE regarding University Governance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
