A Avaliação de Crianças Pré-escolares em Varas de Família: Práticas Periciais de Psicólogos Judiciários.

This work aimed to explore the psychological assessment of preschool children in Family Courts in the Brazilian forensic context. The objective was to understand how the practices of 12 forensic psychologists are with regard to the assessment of children aged 3 to 5, inserted in contexts of custody dispute and/or regulation of the right to coexistence. We sought to investigate what are the psychological techniques used by professionals, the difficulties and the advantages of doing it, as well as the use of resources such as tests and protocols by the professionals interviewed. It was possible to draw an overview of the performance of geographically representative expert psychologists, as it encompasses professionals from the five Brazilian regions. The interview with children was understood to be a fundamental part of the assessment process in the forensic context, despite the lack of specific instruments and guidelines to guide it.
