Abstract

This paper examines legal means that were enacted "to face the expansion of communism" in Colombia, after the triumph of the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 and its subsequent consolidation in the Cold War, and places them in their respective political context in two different moments: in the twenties when the Conservative Hegemony enacted laws to stop the influence of the Russian revolution, in a time of intense social upheaval and worker mobilization; and then in the military rule of General Gustavo Rojas Pinilla (1953-1957), who ban the "international communism" in times of the Cold War.
