Abstract
- The article discusses a nurse staffing model used by the academic teaching hospital Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic to serve as guide in dealing with unprecedented event. Topics include the need for nursing leadership to prepare for critical shortages of supplies, space and staff, and the benefits of the model like promoting good teamwork, ensuring hospital staff safety, and maintaining high-quality patient care.
