Abstract

The article reports on the fate of the first 20 detainees at the Guantánamo Bay detention facility of the U.S. in Cuba as U.S. President Joe Biden is planning to shutter the prison as of March 2021. Also cited are the remaining prisoners at the site, namely, Tunisian Ridah bin Saleh and Ali Hamza al Bahlul, and the establishment by Brigadier General Michael R. Lehnert of the prison following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack.
