A New Way to Distribute Research Seed Funding: Peer Review Without Formal Review.

The article focuses on developing new ways to help faculty innovate, in case with respect to research projects. Topics discussed include information on Mcubed, a new seed funding program at the University of Michigan, which distributes resources for projects based on public accountability and researcher buy-in; benefits of the program involving return on investment; and concern over absence of evidence of effectiveness about peer review.
