Abstract

The article presents a study on a robust catalog of giraffe-specific mutations identified by generating a high-quality chromosome-level giraffe genome. These mutations are related to bone growth, vision, hearing, cardiovascular and circadian functions. It discusses the resistance of the giraffe-type FGFRL1 gene to hypertension, the skeletal and cardiovascular characteristics of the FGFRL1 gene, and the implications of the study for research on hypertension in humans.
