Abstract

The article presents a study which proposed the concept of virtual biotic pollution flow as an indicator of the mutual dependence of countries on biodiversity-based ecosystem services and provided an onlien tool to visualize trade flow. It shows that countries with higher development level demand high levels of biodiversity-based services to sustain their consumption patterns. Also mentioned are pollination demand and cropland expansion and pollinator dependence rates.
