Analysis of moisture level in concrete structures of WW2 bunker no. 37 in Czechia.

Abstract

The paper deals with analysis of moisture in concrete structures of historic bunker no. 37 which was built in 1937. Most of these objects (bunkers no. 37) show failures due to moisture in the structures. At first, an indicative measurement was carried out by the capacitive hygrometer. In the next phase, a long-term measurement was carried out by more accurate resistance hygrometer with brush probes. The results showed that concrete used for analyzed fortification successfully resisted the long-lasting effects of the moisture (from the point of view of the overall integrity of structure) but moisture causes local failures due to chemical corrosion.
